Privacy Policy
The short version. Hush Trail works offline and has no ads, no analytics and no tracking. Playing alone sends nothing anywhere. Only if you choose to go online to drive with friends do we keep a small amount of data: an anonymous player id, the nickname you pick and your friends list. Feedback you send reaches us too. We never sell or share personal data, and you can delete your online data from inside the app at any time.
Who we are
Hush Trail is made by Ozan Kılıç, an independent developer (“we”, “us”). We are responsible for the processing described here. You can reach us at support@hushtrail.app.
The app
Playing alone
Nothing leaves your device. The app contains no advertising SDKs, no analytics SDKs, no social-media SDKs and no third-party tracking of any kind, and it does not use the advertising identifier (IDFA / Advertising ID).
What stays on your device
- Your game progress: which map you’re on, where your truck is, the places you’ve found, your garage choice and tuning.
- Your settings: quality, volume, day length, camera distance and similar options.
- Photos you take in photo mode, stored in the app’s own storage. You decide whether to save them to your photo library or share them with other apps; anything you share goes directly from your device to the app you pick, never through us.
This data never leaves your device through us. It may be included in your device’s own backups (iCloud or Google), which are governed by Apple’s and Google’s privacy policies. Deleting the app deletes this data.
Permissions
The game does not ask for access to your location, contacts, camera, microphone or any other personal information. If you choose Save Image after taking a photo, your phone asks once for permission to add pictures to your photo library. The game can only add the pictures you save; it never reads your existing photos.
Crash reports
If you have chosen to share diagnostics with app developers in your device settings, Apple or Google may send us anonymous crash reports (for example, the device model, operating system version and where in the code a crash happened). They do not identify you. We use them only to fix bugs. You can switch this off at any time in your device settings.
Purchases
If optional in-app purchases are offered in the future, they will be handled entirely by Apple’s App Store or Google Play. We would receive only confirmation that a purchase was made so we can unlock it — never your name, email or payment details.
Driving with friends (optional)
Online features are off until you tap Go online in the Friends screen. There is no sign-up: no name, email, phone number or contacts. When you go online we process:
- An anonymous player id: a random identifier created on your phone, and a friend code (like HT-7K3Q) we create for you.
- Your nickname: shown only to players you are friends with or driving with. Nicknames are checked against a list of offensive words.
- Your friends: friend requests, friends, blocks, and any reports you make about another player.
- Convoy data: while you drive together, your truck’s position, direction and speed in the game world, the truck you drive, and the map and in-game time are passed on live to the friends in your convoy. We relay this data and do not store it. It is game data only, never your real-world location.
- Connection data: like any online service, our servers and our network provider see your IP address to deliver the data. We don’t log it with your player id or use it to identify you.
We use this data only to run the friends and convoy features. It is stored on our own server in Austria (EU), hosted by netcup, and reaches it through Cloudflare’s network. It is kept until you delete it: Friends → Delete my online data immediately and permanently removes your player id, nickname, friend code and friendships. Go offline stops the app from connecting.
Feedback you send
If you use Send feedback in the app, we receive your message, your app version, your device model and operating system version, and an anonymous id so we can tell your messages apart. Include an email address only if you would like a reply. We use feedback only to improve the game and keep it for up to two years.
The website
hushtrail.app is a static website hosted on Firebase Hosting (Google). When you visit it, Google’s servers process technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, as any web server must, in order to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. We do not use this data to identify you.
- No cookies, no analytics, no advertising pixels and no embedded social-media widgets.
- Fonts and media are served from our own site — no requests go to third-party font or video services.
When you email us
If you write to support@hushtrail.app or info@hushtrail.app (for example to report a bug or to ask to be notified at launch), we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include. We use it only to reply to you or, if you asked, to send you a single launch announcement. We keep these emails only as long as needed for that purpose and delete them on request. We never add you to a marketing list you didn’t ask for and never share your address.
Legal bases (EEA, UK, Türkiye)
Where data protection laws such as the GDPR, the UK GDPR or Türkiye’s KVKK apply, we process online-feature data to provide the service you asked for when you went online (performance of a contract); feedback, website and email data on the basis of our legitimate interest in running a secure service and answering you; and launch emails on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export the personal data we hold about you, to object to or restrict its processing, and to withdraw consent. You can delete your online data yourself in the app at any time. For anything else, including a copy of your data, write to support@hushtrail.app and we will respond within 30 days. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
We do not sell or “share” personal information as those terms are defined under California law.
Children
Hush Trail is suitable for all ages. Playing alone collects nothing. The online features have no chat or free messaging and ask for no real names or contact details; players only see the nicknames of people they have added as friends. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
International transfers
Our game server is in the EU. Our network provider (Cloudflare), website hosting (Google Firebase) and email providers may process data in other countries, including the United States, under appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page, and for any material change we will also let you know in the app before it takes effect.
